Sketch or reference image
Useful for communicating the concept. Add dimensions, views and notes wherever possible so important details are not left to assumption.
Design & development · Getting started
PT Puri Lautan Mutiara helps professional buyers turn sketches, CAD files, reference pieces and collection concepts into practical specifications ready for sampling and production.
Begin with the right information
A strong sample begins with a useful brief. We review the intended appearance together with dimensions, construction, metal, stones, finish, quantity and target market.
Where a detail may be difficult to manufacture, wear poorly or create avoidable cost, we explain the issue and suggest a practical adjustment before sampling. The customer remains responsible for approving all final design and commercial decisions.
Ways to begin
Useful for communicating the concept. Add dimensions, views and notes wherever possible so important details are not left to assumption.
We review scale, wall thickness, tolerances, stone seats, assembly and suitability for the intended production method.
An existing piece can help establish size, fit, function and finish. Any requested changes should be identified in writing.
A mood board, price position and target customer can guide a family of related designs before individual specifications are finalized.
Development process
The route can be simplified when approved production-ready files are supplied, or expanded when a design needs more development.
Send the available artwork, dimensions, materials, quantity, target market, finish and required delivery timing.
We assess construction, weight, wearability, stone setting, production method and the information still needed.
We define the development work, sample specification, estimated production price where possible, fees and expected timing.
When required, the design is translated into CAD, a master model, mold or other production tooling for review.
A sample is made using the agreed materials or suitable development materials, then inspected before being presented for approval.
You check dimensions, fit, stones, construction and finish. Requested changes are assessed for cost and schedule before revision.
The approved sample and recorded specification become the reference for bulk production and quality control.
Decisions to confirm
Overall size, ring sizes, chain lengths, closures, articulation, earwire or post dimensions and any critical tolerance.
Metal type, target weight, minimum practical thickness, hollow or solid construction and areas subject to wear.
Stone identity, dimensions, shape, grade or acceptable variation, setting method and customer-supplied stone requirements.
Polish, texture, oxidation, plating color and thickness, protected areas and the approved visual reference.
Logo artwork, hallmark placement, country-of-origin marking, copyright permissions and minimum legible size.
Intended destination, product-safety specification, testing needs, packaging and any special labeling or documentation.
Sample approval
A physical sample gives the clearest reference for bulk production. Approval should record both what is accepted and what must still change.
Production timing is confirmed after approval. A change made after approval may require a new sample, revised quotation or adjusted delivery schedule.
Timing & responsibility
Sampling is usually planned at approximately 4–6 weeks after the specification and required payment are confirmed. Complex tooling, specialist stones, multiple revisions or customer-supplied components can extend the schedule.
PLM provides manufacturing guidance and identifies practical risks based on the information supplied. Customers approve the final design, branding, market suitability and any testing or certification required for their destination.
Frequently asked questions
No. We can begin with a sketch, reference image, technical drawing, CAD file or physical sample. The quotation will reflect the development work still required.
Yes. We can suggest adjustments for strength, weight, stone setting, assembly and repeatability. Any material design change is submitted for customer approval.
The included revision scope is stated in the quotation. Additional or substantial changes may require a revised fee and schedule.
For a new custom design, we normally recommend approving a physical sample first. Direct production may be reviewed for proven, production-ready specifications at the customer's risk.
